Our Food Education Programs | Lunchtime Solutions

Fueling Bodies and Minds

Lunchtime Solutions is committed to educating students on the importance of proper nutrition. We offer a variety of educational opportunities, like learning where food comes from and exciting new dishes to try, designed to engage, educate and promote healthy food choices for life.

Examples of our food education programs include:

Farmers Market Selections Program

Features locally grown fruits, vegetables, beef and other sourced items: Lunchtime works with teachers, administrators and student customers and offers educational and nutritional information on items sourced. Student field trips to orchards to pick apples, corm shucking lessons as part of purchasing locally grown sweet corn and showcasing “watermelon art” are just a few of the ways Lunchtime partners with schools to combine locally sourced fresh items, promote local growers and deliver food education to student customers.

SchoolYard Garden

Lunchtime Solutions supports school grown gardens, offering to pay the startup costs of seed and fertilizer, and also to integrate the produce from on-site gardens into the lunch program to complete the circle of learning regarding truly sustainable food production practices.

Classroom Education – Where Does Your Food Come From

The more students understand where their food comes from, the more they can appreciate the benefits of making healthy choices.
