Adrian MN, Laramie WY Menus Already Certified in Compliance

Amy Lundgren, Executive Vice President for Lunchtime Solutions reports: I am pleased to announce that the state of MN has approved the Adrian School District, and the state of Wyoming has approved Laramie County #2 School District to receive the additional 6 cent lunch meal reimbursement per the USDA 2010 Healthy, Hungry Free Kids Act. Laramie County #2 was just the 8th district in the state of WY to be certified.  Congratulations to our Food Service Directors Heather Wahl and Mary Borns for getting this accomplished so quickly in the school year. 

Developing menus and recipes and sourcing products that meet the new meal pattern requirements was a challenge this past summer, and executing the menus and recipes in the operations these past two months has been equally challenging.  Our goal has been to get it right the first time and to have our menus in compliance for October 2012, and to certify the district for the maximum reimbursement possible.  We are on our way to meeting that goal.
