North Andrew (MO) Farm to Fork Lesson for First Grade
North Andrew R-VI first grade students got to share in the adventure of where their food comes from on Monday, March 14th at the North Andrew Elementary School. Students learned the food cycle process with a presentation from Lunchtime Solutions Inc., the food service management company that contracts with the North Andrew Schools. They got to participate in a lesson on how their food comes from the farm to the table. Through this interactive lesson, students saw the process of our food cycle; from planting a seed, to the farmer harvesting and delivering the yield to grocery stores, farmers markets and schools. Debbie Farr, Food Service Director, taught the lesson, and each student received a package of tomato seeds to start a garden in the spring.
