Complete Meals Guidance and Reinforcement![]() We recommend that schools adopt a program with “No snacks without first purchasing a complete meal”. We have proven success with this approach. SchoolYard Garden™ – The Ultimate in Local Lunchtime Solutions offers to partner with school groups that are raising school gardens. Financial assistance is available for supporting school grown food, and integrating the yield into the school meal programs for full-circle food production learning. Shows students directly at their lunchtime how healthy cooking looks and tastes. Nutrition learning days are held at Elementary schools. ![]() Lunchtime Solutions’ wellness mission of “Growing Healthy Kids” is an excellent fit with Cindy Gates’ personal mission to improve lives through better nutrition. When Cindy is speaking to students, she has a targeted approach for elementary and high school levels, and links good food decisions today to wellness beyond the K-12 years. HealthierUS Schools Challenge
Lunchtime Solutions has spearheaded the efforts to get two of our school districts recognized with the prestigious HUSSC Award for nutritional and physical education excellence. To be considered for the award, menus must far exceed current requirements for fruits and vegetables, whole grains and fiber. Less than 1,500 schools in the entire USA have been awarded under this program that is the cornerstone of the national effort to reduce childhood obesity and lead students to healthy lifestyles.
