Our Focus is Healthy Food ChoicesTraditional Lunch Menu – This meal option has a choice of at least three entrees, and has selections from home style comfort foods, popular sandwiches like burgers and chicken sandwiches, subs, wraps and pizza Mexican foods. Included with the traditional lunch are unlimited servings from the Fruit and Veggie bar, a hot vegetable of the day, desserts two times weekly, and milk choices. This menu far exceeds the requirements for the National School Lunch Program.

Fresh Tastes Menu – We have ongoing development of entrees that mirror what students are seeing out in casual restaurants. These choices can be offered every day, or as additional entrée options on selected days in the month or menu cycle. Students must have money in their accounts to purchase foods from the Fresh Tastes menu
Crusin’ Café – A meals to go option for students that have to be away from the serving area over the lunch hour.
Chef Selections – These are recipes and menu selections prepared by one of our chefs at a cooking demonstration in front of the students, with the freshest ingredients. Chef Selections are typically offered once per month, and students must have money in their accounts to purchase foods from the Chef Selections entrees.

Fruit & Veggie Bar – Students can have unlimited serving from the Fruit & Veggie Bar. This is included with the traditional lunch menu, there may be a small additional charge to combine with the Fresh Tastes or Chef Selections menu items.
Breakfast – Breakfast is offered in most locations, breakfast to go or breakfast in the classroom is offered with the support of the school district. Students typically have a choice of a hot entrée or cereal choices with toast, fruit or juice, and milk.
Lunchtime Solutions is committed to increasing a student’s understanding of healthy foods and good food choices.
Farmers Market Selections Program – features a monthly fruit vegetable or other food, along with monthly product nutritional on posters displayed in the serving area or on our website.
SchoolYard Garden – Lunchtime Solutions supports school grown gardens, offering to pay the startup costs of seed and fertilizer, and also to integrate the produce from on site gardens into the lunch program to complete the circle of learning regarding truly sustainable food production practices.

WasteWisdom™ – Lunchtime Solutions, Inc. supports schools in their to efforts become greener and initiate school waste reduction and management programs that help students make connections between consumption, waste, and the need to conserve natural resources. Our WasteWisdom™ program strives to engender a sense of student involvement and responsibility by honoring the 3 R’s: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Local Purchasing – We are committed to buying locally grown produce and other foods when possible. In the fall of 2009, Lunchtime Solutions has purchased locally grown produce from Hebda Family Produce of Mission Hill SD, the Sioux City Farmers Market, Hutterite Colony of Springfield SD.
All of our traditional lunch menus are nutritionally analyzed in weekly increments with NutriKids™, a specialized nutritional analysis software. Key nutritional parameters such as calories, total fat, calories from fat, saturated fats, and key nutrients such as proteins and fiber are measured for a week’s menus. Our nutritional guidelines call for
- No more than 30% of total calories from fat
- No more than 10% of calories from saturated fat
- Elimination of trans fats
- Whole grain bread offered two times per week
- Meatless entrees three to four times per week
- Unlimited fruits and vegetables with every complete lunch
- Desserts limited to twice weekly
- Our serving sizes for entrees do not exceed the USDA guidelines for school lunch or breakfast.
